--- Fixes and improvements --- - Some runs were getting ghosted by their own graveyard - a deleted run's leftover "already paid" stamp could block a brand new run from ever collecting its rewards. Tracked it down, evicted the ghost, and made sure everyone owed a little XP actually got it.

=== New Feature / Pick Your Start === - Some books cheat and have two beginnings - flip editions, a bonus story in the back. Starting the "other" one used to mean hunting down the flag button and retyping the section number every time. Now, once you've used 2+ starts, hitting + New just asks which one - one click, done. Single-start books don't notice a thing. --- Fixes and improvements --- - The shop now shows a "N spent" pill next to your balance - your gold-coin spending habit, laid bare. - The play area's buttons and XP panel used to bump into each other on smaller screens - now they know their place.

--- Fixes and improvements --- - Coverless days in the feed used to sit there looking flat and left out. Now they get a peek of the real background too, like everyone else. - New Ctrl+Y toggle for that see-through effect, kept separate from the covers toggle - mix and match to your heart's content. - Ctrl+B is gone. Everything it did now lives in Ctrl+Y, so there's one settings spot to remember instead of two. - The background source picker (all public covers vs. just yours) moved right into that same panel.

=== New Feature / Start Run at Section === - Some gamebooks are secretly two books, one at the front, one you find by flipping the whole thing over like a pancake. New Run always started at section 1, so the flipped half was stuck being awkward to play. Now a ⚑ button next to New Run lets you start at any section, so both halves get to live happily in the same book. === New Feature / F1 Cheat Sheet Button === - Pressing F1 has always opened the shortcuts popup, but nobody presses random function keys on a hunch. There's now an F1 button right next to User Guide that does the same thing, so you can actually find it. --- Fixes and improvements --- - The Demo button now hides itself once you've got a win and a loss under your belt. You've clearly moved past needing training wheels. - Fixed deleting a node sometimes taking other innocent nodes down with it, if they were only reachable from an alternate start. - Fixed the graph and public share page always marking section 1 as "start," even for runs that began somewhere else entirely. - Fixed the start-node popup ignoring you when you clicked outside it. - Fixed Undo looping you right back to where you started on long auto-walks, like a very small, very annoying time loop.

=== New Feature / Day Covers in Feed === - Each day's activity card now shows a hint of whichever public book was most active that day, tiled subtly behind the entries. Not your thing? Ctrl+Y has a "Day covers in feed" toggle, on by default.

--- Fixes and improvements --- - Undoing a wrong choice could silently erase the note and priority on the node before it. Your notes are safe now. - Equipment slots can now be dragged and swapped directly - finally, stop unequipping just to shuffle your rings around.

Attach images, PDFs, archives, and text files to your feedback, inbox replies, and forum posts - just hit + Attach. Big images get squeezed down automatically so nobody waits an eternity for your screenshot to load. Images show up right in the conversation; everything else lands as a tidy download link. === New Feature / Connector Styles === - The lines connecting sections on your graph can now be styled. Right-click any empty space in the graph area and hover over "Connectors" to pick from five options: the classic Curved, the mirror-image Curved (opposite), the smooth Cubic bezier, Horizontal, or Straight lines if you are the kind of person who irons their bedsheets. The choice is saved per book, so your cozy mystery graph can curve elegantly while your dungeon crawl is all brutal right angles. No one will judge you. Probably. === New Feature / Export glow-up === Exports got a serious makeover. The button now tells you it's working. The ZIP has your book's actual name. And the HTML report now includes your full character stats, inventory, and equipment for every single run - so you can truly appreciate how spectacularly you died on run 3 with three healing potions still in your bag. --- Fixes and improvements --- - Alphanumeric-section books now export with real data instead of a page full of zeroes. Technically zeroes are also data, but they were the wrong ones. - Starting a portal run now gives each playthrough its own character sheet instead of sharing one between them. Turns out letting two runs share the same sheet was less "clever" and more "a nightmare." - The export no longer quietly implodes if a character sheet field has unexpected data in it. It now shrugs and moves on, like a professional. - Exporting one book used to load every book you own first, for reasons that made sense to nobody. Fixed.

=== New Feature / Stats for Nerds: App Stats === - Ever wonder how old this thing is? How much code holds it together? Whether it ever goes to sleep? Now you can find out. The Stats for Nerds panel has a new "The App" section that exposes the app's age, current server uptime (and what percentage of its life it's actually been awake), total accumulated downtime, how many lines of code are keeping the lights on, how bloated the database has gotten, and how much traffic the server has pushed and pulled since day one. Numbers that mean nothing to most people and everything to exactly the right people.

=== New Feature / The App Goes to the Gym === - Nothing you can see changed and nothing broke, which is honestly the best kind of update. We spent some quality time cleaning house behind the scenes. The app had developed a habit of quietly stockpiling things it didn't need, the way you accumulate dead-end paths in a gamebook you've already finished. We found a surprising amount of it, got rid of it, and the app is now noticeably lighter and happier. It has also agreed to do this automatically every night going forward, so things stay tidy without anyone having to ask. === New Feature / Everything in Its Right Place === - We did a proper restructuring of how the app is built internally. Think of it like a gamebook where someone finally went through and made sure every "turn to episode X" actually points somewhere useful, instead of having the same instructions copy-pasted across a hundred different episodes. Nothing looks different from the outside, but everything is in the right place now, which makes it easier to add new things without accidentally breaking old ones. --- Fixes and improvements --- - The little XP bubble that pops up when you do something good finally learned where it lives. - Some old notifications you'd already read were taking up space for no reason. Shown the door. - Tightened up a few things under the hood that had gotten a bit woolly over time.

They've been found, fixed, and are now ready for your verdict - but only after you've played every story in the series first. - Stats for Nerds now tracks ratings: total given, broken down by books, anthologies and series, average score, and a full star distribution so you can judge how harsh your fellow players really are.

It has been spoken to and will now save up those tiny fractions and pay them out when due. - Turns out heartbeat bonuses were also quietly pocketing your fractional XP. We've had words with them too. They now keep a tab and settle up properly.

=== New Features / The World Rewards Patience / XP Boosts, Rebalanced === - Veterans know the drill - the longer you play, the deeper your story goes. Starting now, players who reach level 11 find their idle heartbeat ticking just a little faster, as if the world itself has started meeting them halfway. The bonus grows with you, so the higher you climb, the more the world fills your sails between sessions. No action required - just keep reading. - XP boosts have been rebalanced - 0.1% per purchase instead of 1%, escalating cost, cap tied to your level. Everyone's boost XP was stripped and recalculated from scratch, GC refunded. Sting is temporary, fairness is permanent.
